Success Story - Waco ISD, TX

Our school uses the state test scores to gauge whether a program is working or not, and with SideStreets we went from a 77% pass rate to 95% of our students passing math. TAKS scores rose from the 20s to the 60s in just a semester, and we attribute that success to SideStreets, especially the writing journals.
We started using the SideStreets math program for an extra 50 minutes of instruction with our middle school special education students. Using SideStreets, we saw that some our special education students were able to do math, so we were able to integrate them into the mainstream classroom.
SideStreets is a teacher-friendly program that is self-guided. Even teachers who are not comfortable teaching math can easily use SideStreets because the program is scripted, and everything they need is in one complete package.
Our work is already done for us with SideStreets; we don’t have to sit down and create lesson plans because they already exist. I’m an administrator teaching math during our school’s advisory period, and I was able to open up the materials and go!
If SideStreets is used correctly it can directly impact success in the other content areas, as well. I would definitely recommend the program to any school that is having issues with reading, math, or writing.
SideStreets is the best kept secret. It did wonders for us. We are fully committed to next year for full-year implementation.
